The First Day of the Rest of the Blog

Hi! I'm Claire and I am the newest addition to what is now the Bend and Snap! :)  As she told you I am a BC graduate and currently a 1L in New York City!  I am thrilled that my esteemed colleague has invited me to join her on here!  Since we are now in a long-distance BFF-ship for the first time in a while and we can't shop together as often, this is the next best thing, am I right?

So, getting down to business, I want to use my inaugural post on this blog to talk about a problem that has been plaguing me for a while.  I have too many Longchamp bags.

I'm not talking too many in the sense of I have them spilling out of my closet (which, to be fair, wouldn't be saying much, because I live in an NYC apartment).  I don't even have very many.  Fine, I have four.  See?  It's not that many.  It's barely any.  The problem is, I don't have any other bags.

Now, don't worry.  I'm not a savage.  I have clutches.  I have totes.  I have evening bags.  But as far as everyday bags go, it's Le Pliage or bust over here.  Oddly enough, I didn't even notice until I added on to the collection the other day (number four is only a week old) because I needed the bigger one to accommodate my laptop.  (Unlike Kate, I have always used a backpack, and decided this year that I am going to split my time between the backpack and the bag so I look cute in class at least some of the time).  Anyway, after making this purchase (Le Pliage large in Bilberry and I'm in love) I realized that I need to diversity my handbag portfolio.  Part of the problem is that Longchamps are just so freaking USEFUL and VERSATILE that you barely even notice you're using the same bag every day.

But I do, and I need a new one.  So I'm on the hunt for a new handbag.  Unfortunately, I am very picky, and my income is restrictive in that I do not have an income, so it's going to be a challenge.  So far, I am eyeing the Modalu Pippa, possibly in the small grab size since the medium is a little too big for me.  The problem here is of course that I don't like the "Chili" color, but I don't like the texture of any of the other options.  As you can see, it's a bit of a pickle.  Suggestions are welcome, I'll keep you posted on what I find.

Also, one final and entirely unrelated comment: I'm going to wear white after Labor Day this year.  That's one rule I generally follow but this year I can't bear to let my new white skinny J Brands get relegated to the back of my closet when they've barely seen the light of day.  I'm transitioning them - they deserve it.  Who's with me?

xoxo

  1. I never stop wearing white after Labor Day-- is it weird to say white might be my favorite color??

Would love to see a photo of your Le Pliage!!

  2. Oh boo. No need to diversify if you've got your longchamps! One in every color I say. And just to snub that silly rule in the face I'm having an all white end of summer bash this weekend. OK it was actually a guy friend who pointed out the fact that my all white theme conflicted with the apres-labor day date but I don't care and am insisting everyone wear white anyways. I already had my dress picked out so I'm sticking with all white, labor day or not.

  3. No one can ever have too many Longchamps. They're perfect with any outfit, and incredibly chic. xo, LP
